Fitment Information
This is a first generation N63. It has an AWD oil sump. It is a drop-in replacement for all 11-13 550iX, 2012 650iX, and 10-12 750iX models with first-gen N63 engines. This can't be used in later N63TU powered cars. It does not fit in the E70 chassis.
Professional Installation Required
This engine must be installed by a certified automotive technician. The installation procedure is not DIY-friendly. Do not purchase this if you cannot make arrangements for professional installation.

Engine Inspection
This N63 has good internals with relatively low mileage. It has been stripped of accessories. This engine is original to the donor. The donor car was driven at full operating temp under various loads without issue. There is a video of the engine running and driving available. Compression and leak-down are within spec, per BMW TIS requirements. All eight around 180 PSI with no unusual deviation between any cylinders. The cylinders have been checked with a camera, they look about average for the mileage. Minimal imperfections on the Alusil bores. Carbon build up is average on the valves and piston tops. Valve stem seals did not seem to be smoking when the donor was left to idle. No sludge inside the crankcase when checked with a camera. The engine clearly has leaks from virtually every known problem area: valve covers, upper and lower oil pan, rear coolant passage, turbocharge oil return cover, timing covers, etc.. It is a really grimy engine, as you can see in the photos. We cannot clean it without risking water ingress, so you will receive it exactly as photographed. The engine is stored indoors, wrapped and sealed on a pallet. You should plan on a full reseal, at minimum. This is a 15 year old engine with near 100,000 miles. Everything inside the engine is 100% original, so you should strongly consider bearings, solenoids, main seals, timing chains, guides, tensioners, etc.. Those are ALL known problem areas for these BMW N63 V8s. Please plan accordingly for anything additional of that sort. This engine has been inspected and tested by a certified technician. The donor vehicle was mechanically stock and running well. The engine long block assembly has been tested at full operating temperature.

Pre-owned Engine Disclaimer
This engine long block assembly is used and should be properly serviced and prepared by an ASE or BMW certified facility prior to installation. For optimal performance, consumable items such as seals, gaskets, hardware, and other wear components should be replaced or refurbished beforehand. For example, this includes visibly leaking gaskets, cooling hoses, crankcase ventilation components, valve stem seals, brittle plastics, engine bearings, water pumps, and more.
Returns
This engine can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Unless other arrangements have been approved, this engine must be returned using the same delivery service, in the same condition, and packed as originally received.
If this engine has been installed, modified, or tampered with, it is no longer eligible for a return under this policy.
See warranty details below for coverage after installation. You are responsible to carefully review the photos. No returns will be accepted for cosmetic defects that are clearly photographed.
Warranty
This engine is guaranteed to be free of major defects for 14 days after delivery. Warranty returns and exchanges are processed individually, at our discretion. If this engine has been installed, supporting documentation for the warranty return or exchange is required.
At a minimum, supporting documentation should include records of proper installation and procedures performed by an ASE or BMW certified facility, along with clear documentation of the failure mode.
This long block coverage applies to major components only: engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, pistons and connecting rods, oil pump, camshafts, and valve train.
All additional engine accessories and trims are considered extras and are not covered by any return or warranty policy. Extras may include turbochargers, manifolds, fuel pumps, injectors, belt-driven components, electronic modules, wiring harnesses, sensors, solenoids, actuators, cooling system components, engine mounts, and more. These items are included as-is.
Fluid leaks and resulting damage from worn seals, gaskets, hoses, etc. are not covered.
Known issues inherent to this engine may not be covered.
Refunds and exchanges apply exclusively to this engine only. No compensation will be provided for any additional expenses incurred. These uncovered costs include labor, rental cars, additional parts, fluids, materials, tools, and similar items.
